Anyone Out There?

Featured Replies

Hello all......

Just moved into the area (Kaeng Khro).... and wondered if anyone else has settled here? Or if any of you in Chaiyaphum, Khon Khan or surrounding areas would be so kind as to offer a newbee Thai settler a much needed "English chat" over a beer or two? :D .... Village life is fantastic but GOD am I missing some real conversation!!! :o

I could do with a little avice too.......

Many thanks & all the best!

I'm nowhere near you but interesting how you live your life in the village there. Must be a big change. What brought you there? Married?

Legag.... Hi.

Yeah big changes. I spent a few years in Thailand on and off and married a local girl. She was a teacher in the village school and after BKK and the usual tourist ventures (in exsess) ... a breath of fresh air.

We lived in the UK for two years or so then decided to move back to The village. Nothing prepaired me for the life here.... I really do miss simple conversation!

As for missing anything else? .... not yet but I will keep you posted :D

Ive landed a pretty good job in BKK ... stressfull though... so the village will be a break. Just at the moment I feel .... odd to say the least! :o Kind of stuck in a grey area.

Job starts in a few weeks so really I should enjoy while I can! :D

Thanks for the response...

gh,

i live in Chaiyaphum and will be around after 8th Jan, you are very welcome to pop around for a beer. My parents will be visiting for the first time and i am sure they will be happy to talk to someone else in English too.

Will send you a pm.

I'm in home country (france) right now but spent a lot of time in kaeng khro (baan nong hai) and intend to spend more in the future.

in wich muu baan are you ?

and, as I'm trying to get some ideas to make a living in thailand, can I ask what kind of good job did you find in BKK ?

Hi, Glasshock! To my shame, this is the first time I've checked the Issan forum for, well, bloody ages! Sorry, or I would have suggested meeting-up for a jar long before now. I'm not a million miles away from you so prehaps we can match the deed to the thought sometime.

How are you settling in? Still going back and forth?

Cheers! :o

Did anyone find/decide a good "daytime" drinking venue/meeting place in Chaiyaphum?

To my and my wife's knowledge we are sure that there is no bars or pubs as we know it.

Only resturant dancy(thai) type places where you can talk drink eat I think, but I maybe wrong.

Would be nice if things have changed in Chaiyaphum for drinky poos but I doubt it,still tho Im looking forward to getting back.
