I was a bit late for the richer sunset colors but I do like the contrast with the tree. This is taken with my little point and shoot Nikon. I've resized the photo but otherwise it is untouched. Be gentle, its my first submission to this forum :o

It is a Beach Almond (Terminalia Catappa) I've always called it PBung in Thai but according to a plant database it is also called Hu Kwang หูกวาง. It drops its leaves every cool season. This tree is on the beach in front of my house and is many years old.

Yes, I know the trees. Thai love them because they give a lot of shade. They indeed drop a lot of leaves so plenty of work to clean the beach... :o

Beautiful and precious tree.

*** My wife and I were walking through the woods yesterday and I pointed at an enormous tree and said: "that tree is a lot older than I am and will still be here when I'm gone"....my wife said: "yes, it means that mankind is so small...." :D

In Bangkok I buy those leaves for my fish. Wild Betta (Siamese fighting fish) love it!
