Usb Phone For Voip Quickfix Cheapie Needed Fast...

Featured Replies

Hi All:

Me bloody expensive Plantronice USB great of voip over the head, both ears, great microphone, headset broke down. I suspect a loose wire into the earphones as I cannot hear. (can that be fixed in an IT shop in Tucom in Pattaya, as a quick measure).

Tomorrow I need to buy, a low cost USB phone that would be ok for VOIP skype, (have no budget this week, bloody slow checks in foreign exchange).

anyway I need to get something cheap and cheerful, does anyone have an idea, what a basic, but sounds ok, USB Phone might

cost down in Tucom, and can anyone mark my cards on an ok brand. (saves me getting head wrecked with someone selling me crap, & I do not fancy krav maga throwing an over zealous sales person from 4th floor of Tucom, lol.. I m sure many of you have felt similar)

So any price ranges, for a very low budget this week, as an emergency?

I am going to sign up with deecall, they provide an IP Phone which will be perfect, but I got to wait a few weeks to do that.

Also can I buy an adapter that would allow me to plug a USB into an adapter that would make it like a Jack to plug into phone port of a Linksys broadband router, that I have configured for my ireland voip company blueface.ie. Is there such a thing as a little adapter jack that turns USB into a regular phone jack? (that way I have options for USB and Phone jack). again this is just emergency cheap cheerful set up, since plantronics dies...dam_n them!! :-(

Thanks

Gerry

My buddy bought 2 tiny 'travel style' ones in carrefore of all places for about 350 baht.. I recently picked up a wired USB handset made by DLink cost 1200 baht (I think) but great sound and easy to use.. Drivers allow skype control etc but seemed a bit buggy on vista..

Looking at it on the desk its a DPH-20U..

Looking to get a wireless handset that does regular phone and skype once I move / set up my office again.
