Oooh, thanks for the fred!

Had a fab time. Got to Samui on the 20th December, spent the Christmas there. It's the best time of year to be there. Went to BKK for 4 days on the 27th to meet up with a friend, turned out to be with 8 friends! Had a nice time there although I don't really like BKK. Failed to meet up with Bambi as planned which was a real disappointment, maybe next time.

Got back from BKK with a stonking cold, must be to do with the pollution and the ac everywhere you go. Enjoyed staying in the madness that is Chinatown.

Back on Samui did 'hot yoga' which is a blast! If you're into yoga you have to try 'hot yoga'.

Most of all spent my time chilling and visiting loads of new restaurants. Eating and drinking make up a lot of my time. If you're on Samui try Anun restaurant on the Choeng Mon road for the best Thai food. Seaweed restaurant in Fishermans village Bo Phut for the best 'western' food, in fact these two restaurants are the best on Samui!

My wife and I are trying to organise our time between Liverpool and Samui, the eventual goal is a type of semi-retirement. A work/life balance that will spred our time equally between the two.

Came home to cold, dreary and dark. Have had a hard time adjusting. Only a week home and feel I have never been away. So this thread has helped me revisit the lovely time I had - Thanks Kan.

Do you assume the lotus position and then get covered in melted cheese.......... scrummy :o

A great ideal, good luck with it's achievement. :D It's a goal I'd love to aspire to but my business is all boom or bust so the short term ideals are ride out the boom and then sit out the bust in a place like Thailand.

January is not a great time to return to the UK, for me the worst time of the UK year is November to March inclusive but I hate the cold and wet. :o Still once you are past the winter solstice you are on the downhill run to spring and then the lazy hazy days of summer.

molten chocolate may be more therapeutic but you'd have to fit off mig16 which could be a bit of a bonus.

It is certainly hot enough for this to work! :D

If you could organise your business to be busy when you're in the UK and idle while you're in Thailand, now that would be great. I have a bit of thinking and organising to do...
