Hi, i am currently married to a thai national, we have a bar in bangkok, we live in udon thani where i have both thai driving licence and the yellow house book in my name.

I have nearly used my 1 year multi entry visa and was wondering what options are there for me for renewing without going back to the uk.

Thanks Allan

You can get another one in Singapore if you can show them 400,000 Bhat in a bank.

Or maybe in Penang , but no one is sure on the amount of bank balance you will need.

The best thing to do would be to extend it for 1 year at Immigration office in Thailand. No need for Visa runs any more if you do this. You would need to show a monthly income of 40,000 Baht. Can be your income, your Wifes or a combination of both.

Like i said we have a bar in sukhumvit soi4, so we have the required 40,000 a month income, what else do i need to show them?

Exact paperwork can vary but will include tax receipts showing payments on the 40k income, marriage certificat/copy, passport/copies, arrival card/copy, Thai ID card/copy, Thai home register/copy, birth certificate if any children, current 4x6cm photo of yourself for the TM.7 form and 1,900 baht fee. Other likely/possible requirements are photos together at home, to include home number; map to home; bank passbook/letter of account balance. Currently there seems to be a push for non-color copies so if you scan/print use gray scale.

Both you and wife will have to appear.

We have had the bar now for 7 months so has yet do not need to pay track, does this matter,

Yes it matters. You can not obtain an extension of stay without proof of 40k per month family income and that requires tax payment proof. But I believe you can pay tax at any time if you contact the authorities. Be best to talk with immigration first to be sure what exactly they will require for the tax proof.
