Hi everyone

Affraid i need some advice about work permits! so here goes, my last employer in Bangkok failed to return my w.p. until some 3months later! when it turns up in my letter box in Samui. I have recently applied and got new employment in Samui, but have been refused a work permit due to my last one never being cancelled. Now i have been informed that i have to personally hand my old one back in the labour department in Bangkok, and have to pay a fine!!!

is there any way around this without travelling back to Bangkok?

Please could any one help me out, without losing days away from my new employment?

Many thanks.

Sounds to me like you will have a few more problems. Your visa would be linked to your work permit. On leaving a job you have seven days to hand in the work permit and leave the country or apply for a new work permit within the seven days. They will fine you for overstaying 3 months or so. :o
