Bug rider 250 cc. Seen these on Koh chang and think they would be great island transport, if they could be made road legal? Anyone Know if this is possible, how it could be done and what the cost might be?

I have been told there is a road legal bug rider in Hua Hin. Anybody Know of a supplier? Gem cars thailand are the official distributor but they do not reply to my emails.

That's a nice looking buggy and probably a blast to drive. Stick some regular car tires on it, slap on a front and rear license plate and you'll be ready to go. Wish it were that easy :o One of those would be great in BKK during the rainy season for navigating flooded neighborhoods. It's not like you have a nice paint job/interior to worry about.

Can't register it, insurance is iffy at best, can't tax it - you will not be able to get above walking pace as every cop will be lined up along the road with their open hand awaiting the fine money that you will have to pay.

asia bikes say they can register a bug rider but do not know the cost yet but from there website 400 cc bikes from japan would cost about 40,000 to register big bikes from the us about 80,000. So it can be done, hopefully a 150 cc will be cheap.
