Khun Han Guesthouse

Featured Replies

I think that's the town we stayed in last year on way back from a trip over to Siem Reap. We too wanted to find somewhere to stay and park our car, while taking a 5 day holiday in Cambodia (hmmm........sounds like a good title for a song). We drove all over town looking for something resembling a hotel or GH, even a short time motel, but came up a blank. Then asked in market and somebody suggested a place about 2kms out of town on road to Sisaket. It was a lakeside restaurant, that had 3 bungalows behind it that went for 400 baht/night. They were relatively new and so not yet spoiled by short timers and kept clean by owners. He also was able to drive us up to the border and pick us up on way back, which was a really handy service and saved us a slow bus ride up to Chong Am.

Can't remember the name of the place, but look on your right for a lake, just beyond the Tawandaeng nightclub on road back towards Sisaket and it's on the farside of lake. They do good food too. Hope this helps. :o

Hi,

As far as I know there are 3 guesthouses/hotels in Khunhan. The biggest is Amorthep (not sure with the spelling) good for kareoke not for sleeping. Amorthep is on the right hand side when you come from Sisaket. If you continue past Amorthep you find Khrung Thai Bank on your left hand side, turn left on that little road and then a bit further on you find a nice hotel/resort with turcoise roof. They charge 350 bt without fridge and 400 with, all rooms have a/c. Nice and clean. If you continue a bit further and take the next road to the right you find another hotel but no one was there when I went to look so I don't know about standard or price.

Hope it has been helpful for you and that my respond was not too late.

Regards,

Marita

Yeah, just checked a map and saw it was Khukhan District we stayed at, not Khun Han, which I've never visited. Always a bit confusing those two........hope I didn't mislead anyone. :o
