Hey Folks,

On Friday I left my teaching job (my contract had expired).

My employer told me I had 6 days to leave the country once

they cancel my work permit. My work permit is valid till

June 16 2008. My questions are:

A. If I find another job do they have to reapply for a work permit

or can you transfer a work permit?

B. I have the educational certificate in addition to the work visa.

Is my educational certificate still valid even if I don't have a job?

i.e. if I get a new job do I have to apply for it again?

I also have the FBI Background check, do I need to get another one?

C. If I do have to leave the country with in 6 days, can I come back

on a tourist visa? I haven't held a tourist visa since June 2007.

Kindly,

Andrew Jones

Don't know about the first two, but you can come back on any visa for which you qualify, including a tourist visa. You can also come back on a 30 day visa exempt entry if your from a country that is allowed them.

A. Technically possible in limited number of cases but almost impossible for most - not possible in this case.

B. Do not believe teachers certificate is effected but no real knowledge.

C. You have to leave the country within 7 days if you were here on a one year extension of stay on the basis of the job you just lost. If you are here on a 90 day visa entry you do not have to leave. And yes any visa or visa exempt could be used for entry.
