This rather unusual footage of an accident was filmed by a foreigner and police Closed Circuit television or CCTV, and then uploaded onto the youtube.com website. Matt, a resident of Phuket, told Andaman News that his accident happened on Monday 3 March at about 11.30am when he was going from Karon up towards Patong and was about to overtake a lorry, but hit the back of a stationery pick up in the middle of the road, apparently waiting to turn right. Matt flew off the bike onto the road beside the truck. He injured his leg and arm, but not his head as he was wearing a helmet. He does consider himself lucky not to have been run over by the following car behind him. Some passing foreigners and Thais helped him after the accident until the police arrived. The Karon and Chalong district police showed and let him film the police CCTV footage of the accident but said he was responsible for the accident and had to pay the damage to the pick up, as well damage to his own bike.

Andaman News TV11 (VHF dial) at 8.30am & local Cable TV channel 1 + maybe FM90.5 Radio Thailand 6pm, broadcast to Phang Nga, Krabi & Phuket provinces, & possibly FM108 Mazz Radio 7.30pm in Phuket, Wednesday 5 March 2008 & http://news.prd.go.th

Can I be the 1st to say.... Som Nom Nar !! :o

He does consider himself lucky not to have been run over by the following car behind him

Only because the dozzy gits in that following car were more interested in driving around/over him rather than stopping or giving him adequate room.

HI

That guy in the truck should have a ticket for not stopping and helping.

And taxin, it could be you next time think about that......

Glad he was wearing a crash helmet, was defiantly following too close behind the lorry, turning pickup should have had a turn signal on but it would have still had the same outcome.

Was just an accident and a good thing that the pickup behind him was not tailgating as he was to the lorry.

Better luck next time and keep wearing your brain bucket!
