Chonburi City

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have to go to meet someone in Chonburi city (town?). I've never been there before and I'm wondering what it's like. I know it's not a tourist hotspot but that doesn't bother me. If I need to stay overnight as it seems I may, is there anywhere half-decent and affordable in town, or should I plan to stay elsewhere?

Any quick and useful suggestions would be most welcome. I visit tomorrow...

Brian

Much like any other provincial town in the country.

Has some small back streets with older wooden buildings.

Visit the stone carvers at Ang Sila, close by.

I live in Chonburi.

I don t know much about hotels here but there are a few places along the beach in the Bang Saen area, beautiful quiet place at night.

Great sea food in the Ang Sila area.

Ang Sila where seafood sellers and stone carvers go hand in hand.

Some of the stone carvings are truly impressive, I like those big round balls that sit and spin on a bed of water. However the only thing we have bought there are the stone pok pok set.

The only thing that ruins that whole area is the traffic on the main road, those bus drivers are truly the scariest creatures I have come across in LoS, however that is the normal driving style here in Azerbaijan, buses and Ladas driving like they are immortal.
