In late May I plan to enter Thailand on a non imm Education visa. Is this visa typically muti-entry. Can I visit Cambodia and Laos and come back into Thailand without jeopardizing my visa? Can I request a muti entry ED visa?

Thanks

I forgot to say also that usually an ED visa is not multi entry. Not sure that they would give one if you asked. Usually people get one and extend it within Thailand at an immigration office. Then you would need a re-entry permit prior to leaving so that it would keep your current visa/extension alive.

get a re-entry permit in thailand prior to making any trips outside of Thailand and you will be ok.

Thanks

Note, if you're going to travel out of Thailand 4 or more times a year, might as well get a MULTIPLE re-entry permit at Immigration here, baht 3,800 vs baht 1,000 for the single.  At least saves forgetting to get one on a trip out and losing your visa status.

A multi entry visa normally provides 90 day stay stamps. There is never a need for re-entry permits as each entry gets a new 90 day stamp during the one year validity of the visa. Only after the visa expires or stay has been extended are the re-entry permits required.
