Hi Songhkasid

Hi can't comment on the nightlife, but make sure you book well in advance for Mutmee guesthouse I turned up with no booking only to find it full!

What is worth a visit is Sala Kaew Koo (Wat Kaek) a few kms out of town on the Phon Pi Sai Road. A park of statues on a truly grand scale and the guy who made them also had a sense of humour!

Also a vast selection of restaurants along the bank of the Mekong, but for me 4 days would be to long.

TBWG :o

If you have transportation you could go from Nongkhai to Sangkhom district. Lots of scenery, good roads, waterfalls (well, maybe there is not much water right now); generally one can spend more than one full day exploring that direction. Or go to the other side, towards Sakon Nakorn - there you have nice environment also. We went there frequently, just stopped wherever we liked it.
