Recently, my boyfriend told me that there is a new regulation that no more "5-year" driving licenses are issued, now it's only 1-year. As my current (first) one-year will expire in 4 weeks i would like to know if there really is such change.

Anyone got a 5-year recently (past couple of weeks, this is apparently in effect since sometime in April)..?

Yes-me, on Tuesday, five year, its now a new type, with digital photo..cost 500Baht plus 100Baht for photo. You can now use it in ten other countries..vietnam, cambodia, Laos etc.
