The Australian Government has made Prince Philip a Knight. (<deleted>)
Ms Griggs (a Liberal politician) was asked what the Duke of Edinburgh had done for Australia and responded that he had spent "62 years with the Queen".

cheesy.gif great vid. thx. i needed a laugh.

A friend in England told me that he was looking after his neighbours 23 year old cat over the holidays.

The lady in question over numerous years has been sewing, packing in a jiffy bag, and sending off to Australia little mittens for koala bears whose feet have been burned in the bush fires. For nothing. She has never been there and shall never go....

Now that's a nice wee story.

I know many will disagree, but I returned to Oz after living in Thailand for total of four years. as for me Oz is now the better place to live away from the noise and pollution of Thailand. Still have a house in Thailand for wife so she can live close to her family when I die.

My mum has an acre on the outskirts of Maryborough...I love it there. Very redneck, but a good balance or rural and city.

Nearby, Hervey Bay is doing a promotion. On top of the government $12000 starter assistance for first home buyers, the council is offering a further $12000. $24000 isn't a bad deposit on a new home. Prices there are cheap. Mum's trying to convince me or my daughter to take up the Hervey Bay deal.

Beats the Hatyai sky by about a million stars. It's not until you go to outback Oz or far out to sea that you realise the vastness.

This photo, (not mine) was taken recently "a few miles out of Alice Springs". Awesome. I can smell the gumtree fire.

Pretty part of the world, the Sunshine Coast, pretty by the beach and pretty in the hinterland. Some nice roads to drive along, nice run out to Malaney, Eumundi, glasshouse mountains and all that hoo haa.

Just over the bridge from Noosa.

Lots of tourist in Noosa. Unique part of the world, something very special at the end of hasting street, hard to find a place like that.

It's a nice run up the beach to inskip point.

There is NOTHING BETTER than laying out in a swag under the stars in the middle of no where anywhere out in the centre......spectacular light show. Marvelous. Dad a long time, get out there.

?

All a man needs is a Landcruiser ute, a dog, a swag, an engle fridge, camp oven, billy, shovel, a couple of rolls of bog paper....bit of diesel in the tank and head outback.....cross the Simpson desert, wobble song the plenty hwy, meander along the canning stock route or weave across the Kimberley ..... Million miles from anywhere.....not a care in the world......no Prix standing on YS toes......don't forget the fm Williams the akubra or the <deleted> bush and spray.....which also doubles as deodorant ?

I loved my DM Williams cream coloured moleskins...they wore out after years of working in them.

Bought another pair on a trip to Sydney. Fancy ones. Dress code type. $160. Stupid me. It was just after Xmas, and I was already planning on losing weight.......never wore them once as they were too big ever since...they are still in moth balls in NZ.

The photo reminds me of sleeping on the roof of our house in Shiraz (Iran). It was the first time I realised why the Milky Way was called that - it was a white river flowing across the sky with a few islands scattered here and there. Beautiful and amazing.
