Unexploded Grenade Found at Jomtien Construction Site

On Thursday afternoon a worker at a construction site in Jomtien in Soi 12 came across what he thought was an unexploded hand grenade and immediately reported it to local authorities. Acting quickly, somebody made a couple of very neat circles in red paint around the position of the embedded grenade and then explosives experts from the Sattahip naval base were called in to extract the dangerous device.

A group of men in camouflage soon arrived and began taking digital photos of the site and the grenade before a couple of them, wearing no protection at all, began digging out the small bomb. After wrapping it with tape the grenade was put into a metal container, which looked much like a coffee or tea flask, photographed it again, and then took it away for further examination back in Sattahip.

i love the bit about red circles, yes, red circles in paint will prevent the grenade from doing real damage if exploded :o

Deja vu?

This must be the official Ministry of Defence guidelines way of doing things.
