Fiancee Visa - Age Limit?

Featured Replies

I was wondering what the age limit is on a Fiancee Visa? My girlfriend is 19 years old. I was wondering if they have to be of a certain age?

If you are referring to the UK, then the current age limit is 18. However, they are considering increasing this to 21.

Well I'm referring to the USA.....what is the age limit?

Of course you were and we were stupid not to assume that it must be the USA you were asking about......

Guess it depends on where you clear immigration, you may want to stir clear of Texas for a while, until courts get consent age straightened. You might need letter to Thai immigration from parents to let her leave the country. snicker

What Is a “Fiancé”?:

A fiancé(e) is a person who is engaged or contracted to be married. The marriage must be legally possible according to laws of the state in the United States where the marriage will take place.

The legal age for marriage in the U.S. is 18.

Without knowing any legalities on this I would suggest that so long as you are both adults, age would not enter into the equation!

The legal age for marriage in the U.S. is 18.

A quick Google search shows that this is not 100% correct. To get married without parental consent one must be 18 in all but two states, Nebraska 19 and Mississippi 21. Most states have a provision that persons 16 or 17 can be legally married if they have the written consent of both parents.
