if you want to go to 2 projectors just get a spliterr or 3 of that sort!

if it aint got the 3 round coloured pin connectors, let they guys installing it sort it and you walk off other way with a cup of tea in ya hand saying how useless they all are :o

The newer UBC digital satellite boxes have two choices for output (at least mine do): Composite Video (yellow "RCA" connector), or S-Video (single connector with 4 tiny metal pins inside arranged in a circle). Your projector probably has the same options for inputs, as well as "component video" (3 separate RCA jacks - usually colored red, green and blue), but component video isn't supported by your UBC box.

Your best option is to connect the S-Video output and the Left & Right audio outputs (normally colored red and white) on the UBC box to the corresponding inputs of your projector. The quality of the S-Video signal is a little better than that of the yellow composite connector. If you don't have S-Video outputs/inputs, then you'll need to connect using the yellow composite video jack and the same Left & Right audio jacks.

With projection systems and large images the poor signal quality of UBC is magnified...

The lowest quality output is the composite (yellow single video lead).. Soft and can show smearing.. Try to not have a PJ connected to this.

The next step up is s-video.. S-vid should be noticeably sharper.

The next better connection would be Component (red green and blue connectors.. Technically its usually a YPbPr here in asia but theres many flavors of component video RGB RGBs RGBHV etc etc).. I am told the UBC DVR comes with component and you can buy cheap aftermarket Sat reception boxes that have it.. I use dreambox'es that can be hacked to run component from thier SCART output.

Best would be a digital connection.. DVI or HDMI being the ideal in the current market. You can get specialist sat boxes with these but your looking at biggish costs and not much availability in Thailand.

You also get into all kind of high end territory with video scaling and deinterlacing.. One of my pet topics but not really of interest to the majority.

Also be aware that you can get 'upconverting' receivers. So while the amp does all your audio switching between sources it also upconverts all your various input signals (dvd players, game systems, sat TV, etc etc etc) of all input types to a single output, if purchasing one now, get one that upconverts all signals onto HDMI. This does have some expense but simplifies all your switching and control needs, I dont know how far into this your getting as you can do a projection HT for under 1000 USD but I have also worked with setups costing multi 100's of 1000 USD.
