SOURCE: Pattaya One News: July 5th 2008

37 Year Old woman attacked and robbed in Soi Gopia, South Pattaya.

In the early hours of Friday Morning, Police Major Witaya was called to the front of a house in Soi Gopai, South Pattaya to deal with a fight which led to injuries sustained by a Thai woman, Khun Yupin aged 37.

At the scene, Police spoke with the victim who explained that 5 people had just attacked her and robbed her of her possessions. 4,000 Baht in cash and a 50 setang-weighted Gold Necklace and a 25 setang-weighted gold bracelet were taken from her during the attack.

She did not know any of her attackers who fled the scene following the attack. Descriptions of the attackers are now in the hands of Police who will do their best to locate them and bring them to justice.

In the small hours in the City of Sin, it's best to stay inside behind strong locks as the streets are full of mayhem.

Soi Korpai is not a good place to be in the early hours - many one-room hovels for itinerant labour, plus cheap bars, pool tables and the like.

(and indigent farangs)

Never wear jewellry in that area.

Never wear jewellry in that area.

Never wear jewelry AT ALL in Thailand unless you're attending a hi-so wedding in a 5* hotel.

No need to wear jewelry; what for ? :D

Wearing/showing off jewelry is sooooooo done for, so altmodisch, so 'not done', especially if men want to show they have a golden chain.... :o:D They don't realize they look cheap...dirt cheap.

LaoPo

Up to you, wear chain/two rings. Done so my whole life, so why should I change? I fear some here on this forum want everyone the same.

See plenty of thai(s) both men/women wear their gold every day. :o

Look at Ron Atkinson.

I wouldn't advise him to rock around the Pattaya back sois in the wee hours. (or in the ee whores, for that matter).
