Have You Lost A Friend In Pattaya

I have not lost a friend to Death in Pattaya, but i certainly lost what i thought was a good friend due to stealing from me. I considered this person to be a very close friend for a long time, until they slept at my house, and when i was sleeping, they ransacked my house and stole 6 Baht of gold, my Camera and other items, then completely vanished - never to be seen again. I consider that I did in fact lose a friend in Pattaya.

i also lost a friend in Pattaya ,but not through death ,in short i had found a woman to do his interior decorating ,i was to recieve a commision ,which she did not want to pay ,so lied to him about me. i could prove the lies and was about to ,in fact i had written to him but was stopped by my wife from sending it ,as she said "if he was really your friend he would believe you ,not some stranger working for him who he hardly knows , its him thats lost a friend ,not you" very wise these thai women.

If he was your friend, why on earth would you wish to take a commission form someone who you found to do work for him?

I find this business of taking commissions when helping 'friends' as one of the most deplorable facets of farang behaviour in Thailand.

Would you do such a thing in your home country? Never!

A true friend would have either persuaded the service provideor to reduce the price in lieu of commission, or would have told the friend up front that a commission was being paid and then handed the money over to the friend who paid for the job.

I just don't get this business of making money out of helping friends.

In my book it is disgusting. :o

the only thing that i find disgusting ,is falangs here in Pattaya that think its alright to screw another falang out of money ,as this woman obviously did.

there are to many like her in Pattaya and thailand in general.they would never be able to get away with it in britain, never mind what goes around comes around.

So, you obviously think it's fine to help a friend and also make money out of him without him knowing?

I repeat - this is a deplorable practice. I've never heard of such a thing except amongst farangs in Thailand.

And you haven't even mentioned any feelings of remorse at introducing someone to your "friend" who messed up the job? That's what the commission was for wasn't it - to introduce someone that your friend could trust to do a good job?

With friends like you I wouldn't need enemies.

never forget you born alone and ............. you died alone ............. that's life for everybody

What about twins ? Or Triplets/Quadruplets/Quintuplets/Sextuplets ? :D

What about those who die in mass casualty events (earthquakes, tsunamis, atomic attacks, Quentin Tarintino movies, alien invasions) ? :o

I wonder what happens to those who die right in the middle of doing "it" ? If they are Christian, would St Peter let them in the gate with the mile wide grin on their face ? Would they need a special robe to hide the viagra enhanced cause of their demise ?

What if they were Buddhist ? What would they be reincarnated as ? A horny monkey ? If that person believed in the ancient Egyptian gods, would his "enhanced" image be carved on the walls of temples and pyramids, to be worshipped by future generations ? Do I have too much time on my hands ?

I also thought this was a strange comment, I didn't think you could be born alone, even a test tube baby needs nurturing and a natural one needs a host, so how can you be born alone?

Last year I lost dear Noel (some of you may remember him on Thai Visa))

Yes I do, Noel made quite an impression on me in the very short time that I knew him.

Rest in Peace to all

Last year I lost dear Noel (some of you may remember him on Thai Visa)) to cancer, Jimmy (my age), to an aneurysm , and Peter (my age) to complications brought on by an excess of alcohol.

Then this year Helicopter, with whom I had a passing acquaintance.

Then also last year there was Hatch (heart attack), who ran Q cars in Bangkok.

I had known Jimmy and Peter for over 25 years.

No suicides - to my knowledge.

You never know when your time is up, so make the most of the life you have.

RIP to all of them

Mobi - I knew Noel for 29 years until his sad death in November 2006. I have saved one of his witty email messages sent from Pattaya during the last year of his life and before he was diagnosed with cancer. If you would like to PM me I will send it on to you.

I heard through the grapevine that BJ (formerly of BJ's bar on Soi BJ, Regent marina and latterly Soi 2) had passed away while visiting back home in the US last year.

Can anyone confirm or is someone horribly misinformed?
