Man apparently hangs himself only 7 days after the death of his father.

A sad case of apparent suicide now, from an area of woodland in Huoy Yai Municipality. Police Lieutenant Colonel Giwatpong from Banglamung Police Station was called to the location on Tuesday Morning along with Sawang Boriboon Rescue Workers after the discovery of a body slumped over a bicycle. The dead man, Khun Somshai aged 39 was discovered by his older sister, Khun Sompit aged 41.

She explained that their father had passed away on 20th June and the victim was extremely distraught and informed his sister that he could not live without his father. He was last seen riding his bicycle in the direction of the woods and his body was discovered 3 days after his disappearance. Police tell us that they believe the victim used a length of vine to hang himself.

He balanced himself on the bicycle until he was rendered unconscious and then fell to the floor after he was dead. An inspection of the body and surrounding area was made and Police are confident the death was a suicide and a third party was not involved. The body is now undergoing a post mortem examination before the case is closed and the body is released to the family for funeral rights.
