We currently live in Thailand as we have 2 small buisness's here that my wife runs, we want to apply for the Spouse visa but if approved are we allowed to come back to Thailand at any time? we are hoping we can come back here in the high season to keep an eye on the buisness's for a few months and in the low season we will reside in australia working..is this possible?

Hi Graham,

Where does one need to visit before returning to Thailand each time?

For memory an Oz Re-entry Visa is needed in the Spouse's Thai Passport.

An RRV is required if ones permanent visa has expired and one wishes to depart and return to Australia.Applicable to all foreign citizens who do not have Australian citizenship.

my wife's on a temp spouse visa (will be perm after two years)... every time she goes back to thailand, does she need to pay for a bridging/re-entry visa?

Have a good look at the temp. visa - it should say multi-entry - my wife's did as we went in and out a couple of times before she was granted a permanent visa.

For the first two years of the Temporary Spouse visa and for 5 years of the Permanant visa no re entry visa is required. They can come and go as they wish.

Dont know what you mean by this.....

So sorry, badly worded late at night.

Was just asking if one needs to inform Imm. if going back LOS for perhaps a long holiday.

Technically, I think you are supposed to keep them informed of your contact details during the Temporary Visa, so they know where tha applicant is at all times.
