My girlfriend (wife in 5 days) applied for a visa in January which, because I was away on a submarine for four months, I asked to start on May 1st. She got a 6 months visa but I wrote in the letter of invitation for her that she would stay for three months.

We're In Trang now as she stayed for around 10 or 11 weeks in Scotland and I was wondering if she came back for a couple of weeks and left before the 1st November (6 months from 1st May) she'd be in breach of conditions? ie we said she'd stay for 3 months but effectively she stayed for longer than we told the embassy. Will it cause problems for applying for another VISA? Bearing in mind the next visa will be a marriage visa.

Thanks

EDIT: Just read what I wrote, confused myself.

Got a 6 month multiple entry visa.

In the letter of invitation I asked if she could come for three months.

She stayed for almost three months.

I'd like her to come back for a couple of weeks on the same visa.

Will it cause problems for applying for a new visa in the future or should i just go ahead and apply for a marriage visa?

There is no legal impediment to your wife visiting for a second time on the same visa but she will need to leave, as you're aware, by the date of expiry; i.e. 1 November.

I can't see a second trip creating any additional difficulties in relation to a subsequent settlement visa application: after all, your wife would then be applying to stay in the UK permanently and she does not need to manifest an intention to leave.

Scouse.
