Dear friends,

My thai g/f got a new passport back in 2006 and i dont think she has kept the old one. How important is it for the visa application and is there any suggestions as to how to get around this issue.

ALSO

I am going to Thai in Sept for 4 weeks visiting my g/f and we will apply for the visa there.

We do plan to get married but any have advice on whether to marry in thai (sept) or UK (Feb).

Does being married before applying for the visa give it more strength of success.

Looking forward to any response.

Cheers

The embassy will expect to see both her current and expired passports. If she doesn't have the old one, she should have a police/passport office report describing it as either lost or stolen.

Where you marry does not have a bearing upon the outcome of the application, but what is relevant is the strength and depth of the relationship overall. However, marrying in Thailand will mean that you have to make one less application to the UKBA in the UK, thereby saving £395.00.

Scouse.
