Im still learning about visa's so cant contribute on the in's and out's

i found this link where you can fill in any visa form on-line and submit it to the British Embassy, Bangkok

http://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/ApplyNow.aspx

once filled in and submitted you go to the embassy or make an appointment on-line, next to most boxes there is a question mark to help fill the correct information except for 1 question,

"You stated you are not a national of the country in which you are applying. What permission do you have to stay in this country?"

What permission do you need to 'stay in this country'?

does anyone have knowledge of the online application? or any thoughts on this process?

p.s. if you register and go through the form, when it shows a preview at the end dont go any further! i did by mistake and applied for a visa, fortunately no names or addresses where correct.

It is the visa applicant's form, so if your g/f is Thai, she will be applying in the country of which she is a national. It appears as if you've answered the question as the person filling in the form and not as the visa applicant.

Thanks Scouse, i realised it was for the Thai person to fill out i just wanted to read through the form to see if there are any questions i need to prepare for.

At the moment its early stages, im saving previous airline stubs, hotel info and phone bills.

There was just one question i did not know how it would be answered,

"You stated you are not a national of the country in which you are applying. What permission do you have to stay in this country?"

What permission does she need to 'stay in this country'?

apart from that, having no reason to return (needs a job or college course), low bank balance (that can be increased) and her age (18) are what would get a visa refusal, but im working on that, it would be next year before a visa application would be made.
