Right tack - wrong color, subs are black, and indeed all other surface vessels are called other things. If you were at that inter-forces rugby match you might have encountered an argument about mine-sweepers being called 'boats' as they are plastic but that's another story.

So must be your turn to pose a question........

OK, though the few times I've seen a modern boat {last was HMS Talent} she looked grey to my old eyes admittedly from a distance, it's possibly the odd way the anechoic tiles reflect {or not} the light.
