Dear Fellow members

I have tried to google some info but cannot find anything definitive.

When a UK Visa is granted/issued from Thailand, does it also allow free entry into the Republic Of Ireland for a week or so?

Thanks in advance

No, the Republic of Ireland is a completely seperate country.

I understand your confusion, as the Republic of Ireland is part of the British Isles, however this is a contentious point in certain circles.

However if you have UK VV, you cannot enter the RoI without an additional visa, although if you have Irish Nationality it will be free of charge.

Do not be fooled by the lack of immigration control in certain instances, if you happen to be checked, you can be in a certain amount of difficulty.
