Everytime i go onto live chat it locks up after about 20 secs, I can see what people are posting but can't post myself. I've already disabled the XP firewall and now run a zone alarm firewall.

I've different things and in the end the page just resets to the main forum menu.

help, help :D:o

What operative system and version do you have?

Which browser and version?

If Windows XP, which service packs?

Does it work if you temporarily disable ZoneAlarm?

Are you behind any other type of firewall?

Could you try on another computer and see if you get same problem?

Still the same.Users behind firewalls may need to inform their local IT/network administrator to allow TCP connections on ports 9000-9009 at client.invisionchat.com.

what does this mean?

I have windows xp pro servive pack 2

Internet exp 6

adsl connection

It means that one of these ports is blocked somewhere along the way.

tcpip traffic runs between ip adresses (yours, isp, chat/forum) and back.

There are subdivisions somewhat like traffic lanes on your connection (to explain simply)

These go from 1 to 64.000 something, for example

Http (web surfing) is port 80

smtp (mail out) is 25

pop3 (mail in) is 110

Sql (connetion to sql server) is port 1433 ect.....

So invision chat is using 9000 up to 9009 and some or all of them get blocked somewhere along the way

If you have a firewall running disable it an try without. else contact your isp.

Good luck
