It all depends on time. I used to ride down to Chumphon and stay the night. Get up the next morning and ride over the mountains to Ranong. Back to Chumphon by afternoon and another night there. Up early and back n HH for lunch. There are also lots of visa run mini buses that do it in the one day but I used to hate being squeezed into a bus driven like a madman to get back in record time. Also you can take the train down to Chumphon and then take a mini bus to Ranong, just over an hour or so. Then train back to HH in the evening. Even did it on the trusted wave before getting a lagrer machine. As long as you are in no hurry 80-80 KPH with plenty of stops is a nice ride. Enjoy :o

I wonder if they will ever open the border at Dan Singkorn. It's already used for commerce .. seen several large trucks on a number of occasions. The large furniture shop there (nice Thapsakae folks) have the product made in Burma.

That would make a very nice Visa run.
