Kap Cheong Immigration

Hi,

I just renewed my one year period of stay on the basis of retirement with the embassy letter.

A detailed report is in the visa forum but I will give a few points that are relevant to Isaan

1. The young lady said this is the last time I can use the original (3 years ago) embassy letter, she took the original (previous years she only wanted a signed copy) and said from next year each year would need a new current original one.

2. She also asked why I was not going to Phu Sing (as it is quite nearer to Khun Han, Sisaket, where I have my address). Told me new rule, should apply nearest immigration office to residence. Told her this was the 3rd renewal in Kap Cheong, that I was in Surin on the way....She said OK no pLoblem but she apparently has to make a note of why in her computer.....

The real reason is that I was not sure of the kind of medical certificate required by Phu Sing and was not bothered to get one and try my luck at Phu Sing, might do next year.

Took 90 minutes for an extension of stay (1.900 baht), a multi re-entry (3.800 baht) and a residence certificate (400 baht/ no receipt.....free last year....)
