What's The Best Approach

Featured Replies

First of all, hello to everybody, this is my first post here.

I am a 32yo software developer, Italian. I am considering thailand for a stay of 2-3 years. I write software (games) and sell it on the internet so it really doesn't matter where I live.

What would it be the best approach to Thailand in my situation? I don't own a company I am just an individual (of course I would pay taxes in the country where I am living in).

Is there any sum of money I should move to Thailand to get a VISA? Is it related to education levels (I've just the high school diploma)? Any other obvious catch-me around?

I will have a long read through the forum meanwhile.. I hope I am not asking "too common" questions..

For the reason stated there is no visa that fits. So it will depend on how far afield you want to go. Do you want to set up and operate a company here? Do you have 10 million or so baht to invest? Are you willing to take your chances with monthly or quarterly border runs using a visa that does not fit?

You might want to talk with one or more of the advertisers if your intent is serious and you believe you can afford a business here. But you should know that no degree can be a factor in many things here.

Thanks for your reply.

Does an individual company with that 10million deposit comply to Thai's idea of "starting a business"?

Business start can be done for 2 million or less.

I think if get a multiple tourist visa you can stay for the first year. Then you have to search for a house or apartement for rent that a DSL connection will be possible and for what you want to pay tax? Who control what you sell or buy over the internet? No IP to show with anonymiser.
