I'd like to know how busy it is this time of year re. visa's. I'm applying in Nov for a settlement visa for the Mrs and her son, but I can't stay for more than a month due to commitments in the UK. If she doesn't need an interview it states you can have your passport + visa back in a matter of 5 days. Is this reality?

Likewise it states 3 months for interviews to be arranged if they feel them necessary...is this the case right now?

If I can get an idea of the current time line it would be a big help in my planning stratedgy.

Any recent experience info would be appreciated. Cheers, Steve

Yes, but remember it is working days. However in times of high demand it could be as much as 10.

Interviews, if required, are allocated on a strict first come, first served basis. How long the wait is depends entirely upon how many are ahead of you in the queue. Sorry, but I've no idea what the wait is at the moment, but 3 months is a worst case scenario.

Interviews are only required where there is some doubt about the application but not enough to refuse. Avoid the need for an interview by ensuring the application and supporting documents are complete.
