Oasis Opening Night

Featured Replies

No, not the band :o but the newest child from the BOATHOUSE in Kata, it's called OASIS.

Went there last night for their opening:

Lovely place with a new menu, new Chef in a perfect setting and sea view.

Great place to take your partner for dinner at night time, even met some ThaiVisa members there:

Looking good Gerd, surrounded by pretty ladies. :o

Missus said place is superb.

Great to see you there Gerd and glad that you survived the cobra incident.

The Oasis is definitely worth a visit. Lovely setting, great Tapas at the Tapas Bar and the restaurants menu looks very interesting. I highly recommend the meat and goats cheese balls. Will definitely be frequenting this new establishment.

Whilst it is to be welcomed I do despair at the wishful thinking on Phuket to describe things (whatever they may be) as 'high end' when typically they are mediocre at best.

Phuket is pleasantly relaxed everywhere, thaiwanderer, and usually much, much better than mediocre. Most of us like Phuket uncomplicated and unpretentious. If you want sandal-wearers barred, you'd better stick to Bangkok.

You misunderstood. My comment was a nod to the Phuketwan article referencing the 'high end' restaurant business in Phuket and the PR rubbish that is often spouted and regurgitated about various restaurants, hotels, villas etc. on the island.
