Is it possible to pay the 1900 baht fee and extend a 30 day entry visa by three weeks or are such extensions only availible to visas of 30 months plus obtained outside of thailand?

If it is possible can you apply for an extension at any time during the 30 days or only when the visa is about to expire?

Forgive me if these questions have been asked before. I did a search on "extending a 30 day visa" but no matches were returned.

Oops post subject should be 3 months plus visas

No its not possible to extend a 30 day entry stamp by 3 weeks.....unless there are special circumstances e.g hospitalised . 10 day extensions are about the best you can hope for these days and even then they are up to the individual officers discretion.i dont quite understand what you mean by 30 month visa's.........but if you have a single tourist visa (obtained out of Thailand and good for 60 day stay) then this can be extended by 30 days at local immigration within Thailand for 1900 baht.......it is up to you when you wish to apply for the extension, most people extend towards the end of their 60 day stay.

Following your edit.........yes 30 day extensions are available to those travellers with tourist visa's obtained out of the country. They are however 60 day stay visa's and not 3 months as you stated.Once extended they give you a 90 day stay in total for a single entry tourist visa or 180 days stay for a double entry visa (with a border run after 90 days)

Actually, Thailand has no such thing as a 30-days-visa.

Either you obtained a visa outside of Thailand, for which you will be allowed to stay 60 days (Tourist) or 90 days (non-imm)

Either can be applied for to extent by 30 days...

or you arrived without a visa and will be allowed to stay for 30 days as tourist, (if you are holding a p/port from a country included into the system)

These 30 days can be extented, with reason, usually for max. 10 days.

Extension should be applied for close to the expiry date.

There is a transit visa that allows 30 day stay in Thailand but most people are talking about visa free 30 day stay when they talk about a "30 day visa".
