Looking For Dealers Selling Maxi-scooters

Featured Replies

I have concluded that for two-wheel transportation, my needs would best be met with an imported maxi-scooter in the 250-400cc range (such as a Suzuki SkyWave/Burgman or Yamaha Majesty, or anything else around that size.)

Typically, these bikes are imported second hand from Japan as parts, and reconditioned/reassembled here in Thailand (such as they do with bigger motorcycles.) I'm not sure if there is a typical name for these types of dealers? I've heard the name "Chop Shops", but am not sure if that applies?

Anyway, I don't need the bike tomorrow, and at this point am just looking to locate dealers. I live in Khon Kaen, but will have opportunity to travel to other points (including Pattaya, Bangkok, Korat, and Udon Thani) in the coming month. If anybody knows of dealers in these places that sell larger scooters as described above, could you drop a name, phone, address, or web address for me? Currently, I've located two dealers in Khon Kaen (just north of Bung Kaen Nakhorn), but they have minimal selection. I've also been to Red Baron in Bangkok, which seemed like a pretty good shop, but there must be more out there!

Thanks!
