Featured Replies

Hi, i am off to bangkok and Pattaya in 2 weeks time for the first time. Our video camera is old and heavy and bulky and so time to update.

Here in Perth,Australia though they are around $700 starting price......are they cheaper in bangkok and if so where should i buy and are they reliable?

Thankyou.

I can't attest to aussy prices but the prices in the US for ANY video equpment is MUCH cheaper than Thailand, My new sister in law had me buy a camera in the US to bring with me rahter than buy one here.

Tuberose:

I bought a new Panasonic mini video camera before our trip last month and the same camera was higher by about $200.00 U.S. at three different camera stores and don't forget about possible warranty problems. Off the subject, but don't go overboard buying gifts from street vendors to take back home, wait till Saturday or Saunday and go to the Chatujak weekend market things are very cheap there and looking around there is quite an experience, also use the sky train and new subway whenever possible, it will save you hours of sitting in the all day traffic jams in Bangkok. If you have any questions e-mail me if you would like at [email protected]

Tuberose..................since you are coming from Aussie, if you can arrange a stopover in Singapore on the way to BKK, the prices of video cameras there are much better, cheaper and of better quality. Go to Lucky Plaza in Singapore, great deals!!!!

Good luck!! :o
