I have stayed at the Narai, my company had me in there for a month but it was a while back. Good location, excellent facilities & staff but then it's a 4 star hotel, isn't it? I will have to check the current price guide but at the time I stayed there it wasn't really considered a 'budget' hotel, around 2,000 per night. But that would depend upon your budget, I guess.

due to stay at The Narai, has anyone stayed and should we be happy with our choice....i understand it is budget?

Narai Hotel is one of good old hotel in Bangkok. Good restarant there , many thais upper class like to have dinner or lunch there too. It is on Silom road, the busiest road in Bangkok. You can have everything around. Many big shopping malls and night life is on your nose. You can walk up the street to Suan Lumpini park or you will visit Hindu temple or further down the street to Bang Rak....and enjoy your lunch or dinner at The Oriantal Hotel on the Chaopraya River...nice place too..

Bad is the traffic on that street :o

Pathumwan Princess is much nicer:

1. Easy access to BTS

2. Very nice olympic gym with very nice looking people

3. The only salt-water swimming pool that I know of

4. Ma Boong Krong Shopping centre is at your doorstep and other shopping

centres around there.

I stayed at the hotel and I thought it was nice. I have also stayed at the Sofitel Silom next door which is a lot nicer though. Try the club floor!

Anyone know the Manhattan or the Woraburi in Sukhumwit?

I am looking for clean air-conditioned, with en-suite bathroom but no frills (and no cockroaches, prefereably!).

Thanks.

Narai is a good hotel. I have used the place regularly from "97”

Good swimming pool, small but good enough gym. Relaxed amospfere. First class with charm, but without the First class price tag.

Yep, stayed there too and can vouch for it's reasonable price and accommodations for the money spent. One of the best features as previously mentioned is it's central location.
