1 Yr Business Visa Issued In Thailand

Recommended Posts

I have a 1 yr business visa just issued ,passport expires a couple of months before visa does so the lawyer tells me the visa can only be issued for the length of time left on the passport.

Anyone know if thats correct or more Thai B.S.

What is the expiry date on the visa?.

If it is after the expiry of the passport then I guess the consular official made a mistake.

Once you get a new passport you will still be able to use the visa, which I assume is multi-entry (?)

until the expiry date on the visa.

Just show your new passport and the old one with the visa.

If you have a multiple entry visa and leaveThailand with less than six months left on your passport you may not get back in or if flying not allowed on your flight. Thailand requires 6 months remaining on passport when entering the country.

I have difficulty understanding your post. You say that you already have the visa in your passport, so what does it matter what somebody says about issuing a visa?

Obviously, if your multiple-entry non-B visa is valid for travel to Thailand beyond the expiration date of your passport you can use your current passport only as long as it is valid or, as another poster has said, as long as airlines and immigration officials accept it for travel to Thailand.

Once you get a new passport you can continue to use your multiple-entry non-B visa in your old passport to enter Thailand as long as the visa remains valid.

Normally, one of the conditions to obtain a 1 year, multi entry, Non imm B visa is that the passport has to be valid for at least 6 month after the visa expiry date...

So they must have made a mistake at your consulate
