At the moment I don't have any waterfilters in place in my house. Result, the tiles are getting red, due to the ground constellation in Samui. In case you haven't noticed, the ground water has a reddish residue in it, most of the times not traceable by eye, but over time it'll settle everywhere, on tiles, in tabs etc especially in the rainy season.

Does anybody know how damaging this red residue is to the waterworks inside the house (tabs etc) and how advisable it is to get a waterfilter system installed?

I am no expert on filters but I think you will need a rope filter to take out this sort of reddish contamination.

The other sorts will get blocked quickly and if fitted must be installed down stream of a rope filter.

Thats what the bloke in Homemart told me
