Most of the bigger wood stores have table saws and will cut to size. What area you want ?

I'm also interested in getting some precut plywood or MDF for a couple of projects. Do you know if the wood shop in Patong (Sirirat Rd) will cut sheet goods to order?

The only tablesaws I've seen in Phuket consist of a piece of plywood on 4 legs with a 7-1/4" handheld circular saw bolted on from underneath, and a makeshift fence clamped to the top. Might just build one these myself.

Dave, all the bench/table saws I've ever seen are a circular saw clamp to a plywood table. I can think of 2 places to try near you home. We used to have a table, still have the electric saw if you want to borrow. One is on road to Karon, just before/opposite Safari Pub. The other is off Pribarami road, road before the new traffic lights where 'by pass road' joins the main road. Go to end/left. Very big wood processing store. Best of luck ....

i am in the rawai, chalong area.the bigger building stores have a very limited selection.the store in the lotus complex has nothing at all i think.the clamped down circular saw on a table would do.you get decent cuts that way.4 sure beats the coarse handheld cut.so,anybody know of a store with a good selection of wood and a ''red green'' table saw?thanks

Thanks Alex. I think I'll buy a circular saw (been wanting one for a while), and either make a "table saw", or just clamp a piece of wood to the MDF as a temporary fence when making cuts.

I've been buying wood from the shop near Safari, but didn't know about the other one - thanks for the tip!
