I would like to thank everyone on this forum that has helped me with advice and hints etc regarding my wifes application for a UK visa.We made the application on Monday 19th this month. My wife paid 15bht to get an sms notification of the outcome of the application. We were told that the application would take 3 to 5 days.On Thursday 22nd this month i tracked the application on their website,it said the application was back at the visa application centre.Friday 23rd i phoned the application centre only to be told that the application was in a sealed envelope and they did not know the outcome and we would have to go to Bangkok to pick up her passport and all the documentation etc.Thinking that she did not get an interview we were sure that the application had been rejected.I was a bit sad but not disheartened as this was our first time but my wife was gutted,i went through the weekend constantly drying her tears and consoling her.We went to the application centre this morning 26th, we had both resigned ourself to the fact that there was no visa and had already made plans to go to Malaysia for the remainder of my holiday. They informed us that we would have to return between 3 and 4 in the afternoon, when we told them that we had already made plans to go to Malaysia, to their credit the staff at the centre were sympathetic and we only waited about 5 mins for the application to be given back to us.We were about to leave with this big envelope tucked under my arm when one of the girls i had spoke to last week asked if my wife had got her visa.I replied that as she had not been called for an interview then there was no chance of a visa. The girl remembered how much documentation we had produced and said "i am one million per cent sure you will have a visa"look inside.I remember being a bit angry and saying no chance and i did not want my wife upset again but thought, maybe ,just maybe.I opened the envelope and started pulling out all the paperwork (lots of it) and there was no extra documents or paperwork."told you i said to the girl." NO VISA."She said it was not paperwork just a full page thing in the passport.Ok i started flicking through the pages in my wifes passport BINGO! there it was ,one full page size visa.I will never forget the look on my wifes face,we werent even going with any thought of having the visa,we had resigned ourselves to the fact that i would have to come back in a couple of months and we could re-apply.

We would like to thank everyone on this forum for all the help and support that you have given us on the run in to this application,i know i could never have done all the bits and bobs etc to make it so easy. Thanks to you all.

Congratulations, I am happy for you both. I know the feeling as my wife and I went through this some 15 years ago, what a wonderful feeling!

Best of look to you both in your life in the UK.

Congrats and all the best in your future life together.

Just a quick point, mainly for the benefit of anyone reading this who is preparing an application.

The majority of visa applications are decided without an interview, an interview is only required when and if there is a small area of doubt in the ECO's mind but not enough to refuse outright.

Your thorough preparation made sure that all the Ts were crossed and Is dotted so an interview was not necessary. Well done.

As Gary Player once said; "The harder you work, the luckier you get."
