I saw something quite amusing in the Wat behind us today. A monk was down by the lake, collecting water, and doing his washing. A perfect sight of someone in peace and harmony with himself................................................apart from the Walkman he was wearing.

Don't joke. there are some pretty funky Pali remixes going down in the Bangkok clubs a the moment. The Buddha Lounge DJ sets are over rated and somewhat passe down on the islands. I prefer the pure industrial dark Buddha beats that we are hearing in the Bangkok clubs.

Don't knock Buddha music, its the next big thing.

One place you are almost guaranteed to see monks in Bangkok is Pantip Plaza. The other day I walked into IT City there to be confronted with a group of monks standing around a monitor showing skimpily dressed western women in some catwalk/lingerie show

Who said it surprised me. Nothing in Thailand surprises me. I just found it amusing.

Like the girl riding a mo Sai in fairly heavy traffic the other day. She was struggling to take her crash helmet off ( full face) Why? Did she think there were no Police around? Of course not. She had to make a phone call.
