Just getting a head start for a few days in Buriram , would anyone be able to tell me if there is a good hotel or guest house that would be ok for 4 days ? also is there any where to have a few cold ones in the evening .

Hi there are several hotels but the Theprehakorn is the most expensive approx 800 per night The Siam is a nice Hotel walking distance to the Bars and its around 500 per night.

As for watering holes there is Bamboo Bar,Marks Bar,Vinyl Cafe,Irish Bar and Frendz all Farang owned of those mention Marks Bar has the more choice of Beers.

I heard that most expats in Buriram just kip on the Park benches. Sprawl out nice and early to claim your spot and bring a quarter bottle of Sam Som to wind the evenings down.... :o

The OP hasn't specified whether he is going to Buriram city or elsewhere in the area.

Assuming that it is Buriram itself, I would cast my vote for the Thepnakorn. If you want to sample Thai cuisine/entertainment it is close to a couple of country bars and - forgive me, I forget the name of the one on the right on Thani ? Road going into town - but they have sone very good live bands.

Binnsy - I was at Portman Road last night to see my beloved Forest get beaten. Two poor teams, Town were the better of the two and worth the 3 points.

Hope you enjoy your time there. One day i will have to go to Buriram as the guys there seem to be much nicer people, more laid back and not that stupid chip on the shoulder attitude of some of the Bangkok posters.

Didnt care much for teachers even when i was a kiddie.

Yep - search the Isaan forum for pinned topics. You will find the PBAir schedule and that the airport is at Satuk.
