I was ...... details after lunch.

Oki ....... here goes.

For the last few weeks, Wolfgang has either been studiously avoiding me, or just sitting behind the bar pretending to read a book, he probably hasn't said more than a handful of words to anyone in this time. Last week, Yoon's son (a very large Thai man) came down from Bangkok to let Wolfgang know that he was top of his 'to do' list and should he threaten his mother in any way, well, you get the idea. I think this then took the pressure off me a little bit.

I'm sure I mentioned earlier in this thread that Wolfgang is diabetic, this is not a good condition to have for an alcoholic, add to that that his foot became infected with something, don't know what or how, don't much care, but it is very very swollen and he has been avoiding medical. Last Friday when I went to the bar there was a trail of blood all the way from the entrance to the kitchen that Yoon had just started to mop up, it was fairly obvious what the source was as I could hear him shouting. Yoon told me later that she had finally convinced him to go to the hospital the next day, this he failed to do and preferred the bottle instead. He also failed to do it the next day for the same reason.

Monday 3:15pm Yoon calls me and says that she needs to see me, so I drive round. She tells me that he is in the local hospital, but they want to take him to the large hospital in Buriram by ambulance. The problem is that she wanted to go to find out from the doctors how bad it is but at this time she may have trouble getting back as the last bus is at 6:30, I offer to take her and bring her back, she accepts. I write a sign for the door saying the bar would hopefully be open by 6:30 (an hour there, an hour at the hospital and an hour back sounded reasonable)

We stopped at the small hospital to see if he had been moved yet, he hadn't, she told me he was lying there crying and clutching a picture of his current paramour, she asked him to throw it away, he refused saying "I love she, I love she" ...... on hearing that I told her that she should tell him to get her to take care of him (this other woman obviously has no intention of doing that or he wouldn't be in the state he is in, Yoon knows this, he hasn't realised yet) While we are talking we see him being loaded in to an ambulance, so off we go.

Obviously, this is Thailand, timescales do not apply here and we only make it back to the bar a little after 8pm. By this time the market has started to close down and all the ex-pats that normally drink there will have seen the sign and wandered elsewhere. So we did what any couple who secretly fancy each other would do in that situation, we played dominoes for a few hours, she has learned not to take me on at Connect4, as I'm quite good at it and she is hopeless. No one turns up during that time, so I gave her a hand locking up, and I went home.

The next day (Yesterday) she is looking the most relaxed I have seen for months, she has had the best nights sleep for ages and she knows that he isn't going to be turning up pissed and angry for about two weeks (we hadn't discussed it the night before, it didn't seem right, but that is how long the docs estimate before he is mobile again, if they can save his foot) Tuesday nights are always busy, it's Richard and Albert night (another story) the atmosphere is great, back to how it used to be, everyone is relaxed and having a good time (there are sporadic sarcastic remarks of "shame" and "couldn't happen to a nicer guy")

As tradition would have it, I'm back to being last man standing again. While we are tidying up, Yoon says that she wants to come back to my place "just sleep, no sex" I tell her Ok, as long as it is just sleep no sex. She locks the shutters and we leave, the statement "just sleep, no sex" became hopelessly inaccurate about 15 minutes later.

From what you've posted on this saga already the German will be gunning for you when he gets out of hospital, assuming that you've been porking his missus all the time while he's away.

Might as well be guilty as innocent. Won't matter either way to him.

Well, yes, exactly .... if I am going to be on the receiving end of death threats on suspicion of committing a certain act, I may as well make sure that I fit the criteria ..... just did it again .....will probably do it again tomorrow.

mmm..... never mind

was gonna post, but you are an adult and free to make your own choices, good or bad and certainly don't need nor asked for my opinion on it.

best of luck to you

Actually, my concern is more for the woman. She has an abusive husband. she doesn't leave the abusive husband. Imagine what will happen to her when he comes back and finds out? Thaddy is fine, bullies never pick on those who fight back.

I'm not sure I agree with that old adage, thwarted bullies tend to do nasty things to people who fight back in my experience.

Yep agree with scooby do dah, never underestimate a nasty and vindictive bully. I have had experience with them in the past and these people have not read the "boys own annual" that would have you believe that standing up to the bully and popping him in the nose in a Queensbury rules fist fight in the play yard will sort it out. The reality is that these people go out and buy a gun or turn up with their mates for a rematch.

Thad I know and like you but I think you have done the wrong thing. For better or worse you have cuckolded another man. Irrespective of the circumstances of the sort of person he is, consider how you would feel and react if you found out someone had done it to you. I would have been much happier for you if she had left the guy, and after the relationship had ended, you started a new one with her. I am certain you are a much better person for her and wish you well but a relationship started in deceit is certain to end the same.

I cut another guy's lunch once and ended up married to his wife for more than twenty years.

Talk about chickens coming home to roost. :)

Chicken sandwiches for lunch, for twenty years?

Lettuce must have been a bit brown and limp by the end.

Speshully if ya reckon it may not be appreciated.

Just that some people don't like to have their grass cut.

Well, I for one can understand the relationship, she is in an abusive and loveless marriage, Thad is free and easy, supportive toward a distressed lady, it was sort of inevitable, particularly as the German continued to clutch the picture of his latest paramour, even after a visit to the hospital to see if he is being taken care of.

However I am sure that if he was going to do something to Thad, he would have done it by now, a further however, this does not stop him from having it done for him, particularly as he has lost serious face now on many fronts.

It does seem to leave her a little vulnerble at present though.

Just that some people don't like to have their grass cut.

A garden should be taken care of, not dug up and ruined by weeds and worms.

Er, worms are actually good for the garden...

Are worms good for this garden?

I guess it depends on your interpretation of worm, or as a scholar of Olde English Wyrm

By way of comment only (no disrespect intended), I can't see why he didn't take his lawnmower elsewhere, despite the bedraggled state of that particular garden.

So is mine.

(and sorry for the late reply but my monitor decided to pop its clogs yesterday morning)

Thanks all for the comments, especially the gardening tips.

My feelings are this, as Moss said, what has happened was pretty much inevitable, and he was mistakenly under the impression that we were already sneaking around behind his back, so actually doing it or not would not change the situation one iota. Yoon told him weeks ago that their relationship was over, he accepted that and told her that she could get a new boyfriend, any boyfriend, as long as it wasn't me.

I doubt that that he will take any action directly himself and he is more than aware of what the consequences will be if anything befalls myself or Yoon even if he is nowhere near us. My only concern is that if he gets so drunk one day that he instigates something without thinking of the consequences ..... but that is totally out of my control, and the train is too far down the tracks to stop it, so all we can do is keep our fingers crossed that he isn't that stupid.

Since I work in forestry I do a lot of grass cutting.

So if anyone needs some grass cutting just send me a discrete PM and I'll be happy to come over and do the deed. :)

In fact, cutting other people's grass is a lot less dangerous than cutting my own grass, as I recently found out.

Ah, where 'moth and worm doth corrupt'!

Well I am glad you didn't finish the whole quote, now that could really be interpreted in a wholly different manner :)

as long as it wasn't me.

I accept I know little regarding this guy and what I do know is extensively one sided, but a comment like this and I accept it is true, does show him in a rather school boy fashion and he really is on the road to nowhere.

I just hope the wagon he is on, doesn't lead to self destruction along with several others.
