Rama 4 Traffic...march 4 & 5, 2009

Featured Replies

What is with all the traffic delays on Rama IV yesterday and today?

Dunno but the section of Sukhumvit which is parrallel to Rama 4 has been really bad the last 2 days as well...

Agree holy &$#&-farker the traffic on Rama 4 has been BRUTAL!

I was stuck in my car for 45 mins - moved maybe 10 meters - at the Sam Yan intersection yesterday evening.

Rama 4 has been a biatch the past few days. There have been a few events at Paragon - and a 'Sadet' (Royal Car Traffic Blocking Brigade) or two lately between Paragon and Central World in the past couple of weeks.

But Rama 4 has been absolutely heinous, especially around Sam Yan/Surawong/Wireless/Silom/Henri Dunant, etc...

Does anybody else ever notice that the eastward traffic light at the Rama 4/Wireless intersection is 8 (YES EIGHT) seconds long on green....???!?!?! Been that way for as long as I can remember. God forbid you have to get to say, the Night Bazaar or BEC Tero from the Sam Yan direction (you can't take the flyover then)... you are fckud!

edit: got Sarasin confused with SL Night Bazaar... need more sleep.

edit again: Corky were you in your Slick (SLK) or your S-Boat? Ever consider dropping the top in the Slick and enjoying the sounds and smells of BKK while stuck in traffic? :o

I hit that 8 second green light almost every day. But, one nice thing about the long long long red light is that I can get through the first half of the IHT before the 8 second green glow begins.

The top? Only at night. :o

There was something on at the Queen Sirikit center last night. Utter chaos trying to get from Lumpinee to Asok via Rama 4. Once passed the center things started to flow again, at least until those horrendous lights at Asok/Sukhumvit.

I think activity at Quen Sirikit centre was the cause.
