Ah, so they've rejigged the subscription model to give people fast track senior member status. Presumably, Bedlam would be an entitlement as well. It raises the question of what happens to a dolt who pays life membership and promptly gets banned? Refunded? If so, how do you pro rata a life membership refund? Of course, the thinking would be that anyone who pays membership is unlikely to be a cave dweller and therefore won't muck up. But then, even us Bedlamitic types can have our moments, can't we...

In 'My Controls' (top right of this page), it is near the base of the list on the left side. There was a thread in here (Bedlam) some time ago in which there was discussion of TV playing with the idea of introducing mandatory membership fees. This new elective version with the platinum sweetener would seem to be the long-pondered v2 job.

TV is, after all, a private (commercial) site, so making $ and increasing the site's $ value is to be expected. It remains a matter of knowing how far to venture into the grey area of sustainability (from a customer perspective) so that members are not driven off to other forums and, more to the point, potential new members are not put off from joining.
