British Tv Shows

Hunt is a total pig bastard but he is one of the god guys underneath it all, I like how Sam forces him to look at himself a bit more & raise his moral standard

I think it is something that we all identify with, this flawed hero stuff, Heathcliffe and Carton in literary style, Churchill for the Brits, Collins and De Valera for the Irish, even Dr Who in a strange way.

We identify with this essentially bad guy portrayal who has the best of intentions but will stop at nothing to achieve the aims they particularly think is right and to Hull with the consequences.

Gene Hunt rocks in my opinion

I used to love all those old Doctor Who episodes when I was a nipper - with their cardboard props and two-bob special effects. I'm disappointed with the more recent efforts. I know it's easy to be critical, but I just don't think the most recent batch of doctors have been well cast. Then again, I persevered with that spinoff show (Torchwood) for a good while and gave up on that, too. Aside from some fairly abysmal scripts, the underlying 'gay' angle of the main character seems to have been tacked on in some odd way and just doesn't work.

The American version of 'the Office' is very good. I'd say its as good as the British original.

I recently bought a British series called 'Early Doors' which is similar to 'The Royal Family'. I recommend it to those appreciating British humor.

Top Gear is the show I avoid turning the TV on for.
