thaicbr
Philip where do you get the trucks dynoed. can you put up the before and after charts. Allan
philipm
thaicbr, i get them dynoed at powerlab, porche head office close to dong mueng airport. i am thinking of also trying autocar, dyno..., i have had experince with test car, and frankly for automatics they have no clue what to do. and also they test to get a generall anaylisis not a full anaylsis. for example, if on the dyno your power curve starts to drop, they will stop it there. they dont want to give it 100%, which is rather pathetic for performance enthuasist, we want to see the hole curve at the whole rpm range, so we can see how it needs to be alterted,-tune wise etc. yea, i am planning to take my truck to dyno perhaps in the next 2days. ALFREDO
-thaichr- "More performance, any ideas?" Buy a new stronger car. I have a Ford Ranger 2003 LTD 4x4 4 door and the same wish to more performance, but before I give money in that old bull, I think, I better buy a new strong one. Regards
thaicbr
Alfredo my car is strong just a little underpowered. so i'm guessing you mean more powerful (strong) not strong as in a well built car. I am generally happy with the performance i believe the main problem with the Ford's and Mazda's are the rear diff final drive is very high (low)! so it is at a much higher revs per speed. 1st gear is almost redundant maybe a diff change.will give me a more mellow rpm versus cruising speed. any body have any ideas. philipm
i would recommend first step is to go for a piggyback system or ecu flash. after that, it comes more down to performance parts hardware, rather then software-piggyback tuning etc. DMS piggyback increase 2.5L hp by upto 40-50hp above std and alot more torque. after a piggyback more mechanical mods come later, but first step for sure is piggyback. Interman
So I can check around and compare prices... how or what do Thais call piggyback?
philipm
well i sell the range of piggybacks, i have DMS, Peak power, Lightbox, Megafire, Dcommander 1000-3000. these are the main piggybacks, the three leading piggybacks are DMS -B29,000 PeakPower -B39000 D-commander 3000. -B29,000 the other piggybacks arnt that high in performance. Now DMS work different from Peakpower and also Dcommander, Peakpower and D-commander is wired directly from the ecu wires. DMS take some signals from ecu but the rest in independnetly controlled. they are all custom tuneable. Edited April 10, 2009 by philipm

hulahula85
Hey Philipm, just from looking at the pictures, i can't tell if you're using blow-off valves on any of the trucks. Do the trucks have significant compressor surge when shifting, or is there a valve built in near the intercooler? I realize that a BOV is not necessarily needed since there is a lack of a throttle body, but doesn't the Vigo motor have a valve in the intake manifold? I haven't worked with the new motor, only the old 3.0 in the Tiger. Edited April 10, 2009 by hulahula85
philipm
Dcommander 3000 has a simple digital controller, to swap from economy, normal and race tune. Hula, diesels dont have blow offs, as there is no vacume for a blow off to work. as for turbo surge, from my experince we have had 2 or 3 cases that have been effected by surge, but that was due to turbo types and flow patterns. generally speaking no we dont face surge at all. just clean stright boost. Yeah I opened my mouth before I thought of the whole lack of vacuum or a decent boost referenced BOV.
