Internet Access

:o waiting longtime for a landline, promisses every year, now it is to come, I think to switch from GPRS to landline, what are the best possibilities?

access speed? access volume? charges?

anyone can help me, pls :D

Well you have two main options now:

Dial Up - 56k connection

ADSL - anywhere between 128k thro to 1024k (or higher)

ADSL is a bit more expensive (around 1,000baht +) but its generally a better connection (speed, stability etc)

Dial-up you can pick up a pay-as-you-go package for 50hrs connection for about 250baht.

Really does depend on what you want to use the connection for and what your willing to pay

Where are you and is high speed internet available there ??

Otherwise you will have to settle for dial-up 56kbps or

if you have the baht IPStar satellite.

Dial up can be pay as you go with 7/11 cards.

Note that in Bangkok and soon all over is EDGE which is just like GPRS but much much faster ... 350kpbs or so.

Give the free tot connection a try for those times when you are having difficulty with GPRS (very seldom for me). The Tot ISP service is free except for 3 baht for the phone call up to two hours each time. For sure the GPRS option is a better choice though and I wouldn't give mine up as primary service for remote upcountry useage.

For Tot Free Internet:

tks for the tip! :o

You don't say where you live.

For Bangkok and Chonburi I recommend Pacific Whizz as a dial up service.

Unlimited use 450 baht for a month.

Try TOT adsl of it is available where you live.
