Job Ending - Does My Visa?

Featured Replies

My contract with my employer is coming to an end March 31. I'm here on a non-immigrant B, and the latest passport stamp from the One-Stop Service Center and my work permit states I'm able to stay until Sept 3 2009.

Does my visa & work permit 'expire' when my contract does, or does the Sept 3 date still stand?

If my work permit & non-imm B expire, how long do I have from the end of my contract to leave the country? Can I then leave and return on a 30 day(?) tourist visa while I talk to other employers in Bkk?

Thanks in advance for any info.

If you have a B Visa obtained from a Thai Consulate it will still be valid.

If you have a 12 month Extension from Immigration it will finish the day your job finishes. You have to leave the country on that day or apply for a 7 day extension from Immigration.

As you have an extension of stay (from what you post you do) it ends the day your employment ends so you need to do as advised above.
